Continental .800 silver Rococo style pierced centerpiece bowl or compote, featuring dolphin form handles, rocaille rim, cartouche to each side surrounded by pierced latticing, and pierced rocaille feet having fitted gilt metal insert with etched design and ring handles, insert marked Unecht. Eugen Marcus maker's mark, crescent and crown, 800, and bird stamped to underside. 7 3/8" H x 14 1/4" W x 7 5/8" D. 21.065 weighable troy ounces not including insert. German, early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of a Nashville, Tennessee silver collector.
CONDITION: Minute scattered surface wear, including scratches and denting to one cartouche. Insert with surface wear to gilt.
