Large patriotic hand stitched quilt or wall hanging with Union shield. Quilt has been backed with linen, with wooden hanging strip sewn into the linen backing. 83" H x 74" W. American, first half 20th century. Provenance: estate of A. Welling LaGrone Jr., Nashville, Tenn. Condition: Staining through the shield area, some fading, and minor wear to edges.
