Southern Federal mahogany or walnut desk, writing or side table, yellow pine secondary, with rectangular top over two horizontal drawers standing on four tapering straight legs, each drawer with brass hardware, locks and keyhole with rounded escutcheon trim. 28 3/4" H x 42 3/4" W x 22 3/4" D. North Carolina or Virginia, Early 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Ann H. Wells, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall fair to good condition. Wear and condition commensurate with age and use including surface scratches, water rings and dark burn spot to top, scattered pest holes, even sun fading, loose top, cracks, and separation at joints.
