Pair of Allen and Thurber Pepperbox Percussion Pistols, .34 caliber, serial number 363 and 436, visible to cylinders. Left side of hammers stamped "ALLENS PATENT", barrels stamped "Allen & Thurber", "Patented 1845", serial number 363 barrels stamped "Worcester". Five round cluster fluted barrels, walnut bag shaped grips, iron mounted with scrolling foliate engraved frame and backstrap, serial number 436 with a nickel finish. Barrel length: 2 1/2". Overall length: 6". Mid 19th century.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with light scattered pepper pitting. Stocks with surface dings, serial number 436 with 1/8" x 3/8" loss to top of left grip. Serial number 363 with buggered screw, left side of frame. Actions are responsive. Bores are dirty.
