Horatio G. Kern, Philadelphia, cased dental kit. Comprised of a rosewood box with brass fittings and two removable trays containing approximately 60 assorted stainless steel instruments, some with bone handles. Three instruments marked "H. G. Kern/Philad'a". Box measures 4 1/2" H x 9 1/2" W x 8" D. Third quarter of the 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Bristol, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Case with wear, abrasions and some wood shrinkage to top. Instruments with use wear and light oxidation.
