Etching after Pierre-Auguste Renoir (French, 1841-1919), "Chalands sur la Seine" (Barges on the Seine). Landscape in muted colors, dominated by a river with small barges in a line down the center. Trees and shrubbery on either bank and a turbulent grey and blue sky above. Signed "Renoir" in the plate lower right. "Musee du Louvre Chalcographie" blind stamp in center margin. Plain stained wooden frame. Image – 13" H x 18 1/4" W. Plate – 14 3/4" H x 20 1/8" W. Framed – 22 3/4" H x 27 3/4" W. Circa first half 20th century. Provenance: Private Nashville, TN collection. CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Some slight waviness to paper upper margin.
