Collection of forty-one (41) Medals, Medallions and Awards, most 19th century and early 20th century school prizes, plus one (1) possible mid 19th century coin silver slave or apprentice tag, engraved "E.R. Ball / Youngstown O." with pictures of construction tools on reverse (3/4" diameter). The 41 other pieces comprise 7 silver medals including one English sterling medal "Renunciation for Application" for "Miss Sibbald's Seminary / Campden Town 1809"; 2 pins in the form of books; and 32 gold and goldtone metal medals including 1 De Pauw College 1885 / General Excellence; 2 from Louisville College of Pharmacy; 1 St. Mary's College, KY 1875; and 1 Louisville Medical College 1892. Note: 2 of the gold pins are marked 10K gold content (the propeller pin and pin engraved MHHS 1941), 5.9 weighable grams. The Grand Lodge of Ohio pin marked R10K, likely gold filled. The remaining pins are unmarked and XRF test as gold plated. Smallest 1/2" diam. Largest 1 3/4" diam.
CONDITION: Wear to part of engraved decoration on slave/apprentice tag; other items overall good condition with minor wear; 2 with breaks to chain loops.
