Grouping of Maritime items including LT 579, LST 202 and German U-boat 352. 1st item – Wall mount engine room / Boiler room order bronze bell with double hammers ca 1944 mount is 23" wide 19 1/2" bell measures 15" in diameter. This bell was used to communicate between engineering spaces. 2nd item – Large Brass Porthole with blackout cover. Glass diameter is 15" brass frame is under original paint includes the original blackout cover. All dogs work. Removed from LT 579. 3rd item – Large Brass Porthole from LT579 with black out cover. Glass diameter is 15". Brass frame is under original paint and all dogs work. Broken dog rest on blackout cover removed from LT 579 which sank off NC shore. 4th item – Brass porthole with 8" diameter glass in original paint for thick bulk head (6") Note: Recovered from sunken tug off shore of NC Outer Banks. 5th item – Brass porthole with 5" diameter glass has cracks from sea going tug the A.T. Piner which sank off the shore North Carolina Outer Banks in bombing range. 6th item – Ship's copper and brass voice tube with built-in alert whistle used on smaller vessels for communication between bridge and engine room or boiler room. Both ends present. Wall mount end measures 30" and bridge end is 15". The tube is 1 3/4". From sunken tug A.T. Piner which sank off the shore of NC Outer Banks. 7th item – Shipboard light brass explosion proof used in confined spaces from LT 579, 9 _ô" tall, 6" diameter, rubber gaskets missing. 8th item – Lot of (5) maritime related items including a Porcelain insulated radio antenna #ccsv, Mount 6 ¨_"x 5" tall from LT 579, Lunkenheimer no 1 _ô" adjustable oiler in brass with glass reservoir, brass bunk light from LT579, excellent condition, 4 _ô" x 5 _ô", small boat shaft cap corrosion from dissimilar metals, 4", and a 12" diameter metal wall mount ring under original paint for securing trash can from LST 202. 9th item – WWII 50 caliber shell fired off NC shore found near German U-boat 352. Sank off shore from Morehead City, NC during WWII. Marked with an early 1940's date. Expected corrosion and dents. Harvested by Watts' Piner of Newport, NC. 10th item – 2 complete brass grease cups and one lid from German U-boat, U-352 one cup collapsed from pressure at sinking, one damaged one extra lid, each has a number three impressed. All have been polished and measure 1 5/16" diameter. 11th item – Lot of (6 ) Naval ship items including: keys on brass key ring with LT-579 tag, brass throttle control from small boat from LT-579, general Alarm Sign, bell and horn signal chart, and circa 1965 life boat tag.
