Camille Chaigneau, and one (1) copy of Chaigneau's book, LES CHRYSANTHEMES DE MARIE, published 1880. Chaigneau's social circle in Paris included a group of Belle Epoque artists and writers, including his friend the painter Hugo D'Alesi, whose CDV is identified in one of the albums, along with that of his wife, Marie. (Hugo D'Alesi painted the original image of the young woman in the print on the frontispiece of Les Chrystanthemes de Marie. Alesi also painted one of the paintings for sale in this auction, from the same consignor.). Most of the photographs in the albums are unidentified; of those that are, many are identified as family members. Each album contains approximately 49 images. The postcard album dates to the early to mid 20th century and contains more than 150 scenic postcards. Large photo album: 9" H x 11" W. Small photo album: 6 1/2" H x 5" W.
