Rare tabletop sewing cabinet, kingwood and ebonized veneers with gilded metal mounts. Ebonized handle with inset white opaline beads, turns to flip open six side doors, revealing silk pincushions and gilt metal holders for thread and other sewing implements. 10-1/2"H x 8"D. Probably French, circa 1900. Provenance: estate of Isabel Pesek, Ames, Iowa. Condition: Some fraying and losses to silk, otherwise excellent condition.
