East Tennessee (Hamilton County) cotton pieced and applique quilt, bear paw pattern in colors of red and white with alternating floral stuffed work squares, all on a muslin backing. 79" x 68 1/2". Late 19th/Early 20th century. Provenance: private Southeast Tennessee collection, acquired from a 5th generation Hamilton County farm. CONDITION: Overall very good condition with light fading to edges, some darkening to muslin fabric, minor scattered spotting.
