Carlo Cherubini (Italy, 1890-1978) oil on canvas painting depicting a Paris horse racing scene with trotting horse attached to a sulky driven by a jockey in the foreground. Other figures, horses, and a loosely painted landscape are visible in the background. Signed and dated 1962, lower right. Housed in a mottled, white-washed wooden frame with textile mat, gilt fillet, and nameplate engraved with title "Trot Monte Paris." Wally Findlay Galleries, Chicago, sticker affixed to backing. Sight: 13 1/4" H x 19 1/4" W. Frame: 27 3/4" W x 22" H.
CONDITION: Painting in overall good condition, with minor surface grime. Frame with wear and scattered chipping.
