Lot 656: Thomas Shipley See Rock City Barn Painting, 1975

Tom Shipley (American, 20th century) acrylic on canvas painting, “Advertising,” 1975. An old, red-roofed barn stands before a hillside lined with trees. Text painted on the barn reads “SEE BEAUTIFUL ROCK CITY / World’s 8th Wonder / near Chattanooga Tenn.” Signed and dated 7-75, lower right. Old label with artist and title information affixed to stretcher. Housed in a black and white painted and textured wooden frame. Sight: 16 in H x 19 3/4 in W. Frame: 17 3/4 in H x 21 1/2 in W. 

CONDITION: Overall very good condition, with minor surface grime. Minute fragment of sticker affixed to lower left corner, approx. 1/2 in x 1/16 in.
