Continental portrait depicting a young female seated with upswept hair and attired in a Victorian style blue dress with lace appliques to shoulder, gilt buttons and buckle, against a draped red curtain backdrop. Housed in a gilt wood frame. Sight – 19 1/4" H x 14 3/4" W. Framed – 23 3/4" H x 19 3/8" W. Late 19th century. CONDITION: Hole to upper mid margin. Looseness to canvas lower margin with paint flakes and wear.
