Alabama Indestructible doll, black version, made by the Ella G. Smith Doll Company (operating 1899-1925). Molded and painted head and ears, molded mitten style hands and blue stocking shoes. Ella Smith was the first doll maker in the South to manufacture black dolls. Made after 1919. 13 1/2″ H. Condition: Overall good condition with wear and paint lost to head, primarily to top. Losses to nose. General wear to limbs and overall grime.
