1st item: Folk art chipped carved hanging pipe or candle box, comprised of walnut and poplar and having a shaped back with 8-star and flower designs, a sliding panel with heart, acorn and leaf designs to the top, and a lower panel with flowering urn flanked by flower designs, and chipped carved edges throughout. 17" H x 7" W x 4 1/2" D. American, 1st half 19th century. 2nd item: Walnut and yellow pine hanging wall box, nailed, pegged and dovetailed construction with slanted lid and shaped back. American, 19th century. Provenance: the estate of Christine Rehnke, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: 1st item: Very good condition. 2nd item: Old refinish, overall good condition.
