18th c. Georgian sterling silver cake basket, marks for Edward Aldridge, London, date mark illegible. C-scroll form handle with gadrooned edge and pierced foliate work with applied center cartouche; the body of basket with gadrooned border, pierced and chased foliate and bird decoration, raised oval base with pierced and chased foliate decoration and gadrooned foot. Center monogrammed "MEW". Condition: some slight dents and minor bends to pierced work, overall excellent condition. 3-1/4" H (7" handle) x 15" W x 13-1/4" D. 36.5 troy oz.
