Victorian English sterling silver wine ewer, flame finial on a gadroon edge hinged lid with bead course trim above an acanthus leaf spout, a wooden c-scroll handle with spur, and a gadrooned bulbous body above a round base with bead course trim. Stamped with hallmarks for Richard Martin, Ebenezer Hall, and Company, London, 1883, to upper body, 3 stamped to underside of base. Unicorn crest to lower body below spout. Not monogrammed. 9 3/4" H x 6" W. 15.800 total troy ounces.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Judge John Nixon, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Normal surface scratches, bends, largest 1", to base.
