Panoramic folk art oil on panel, unsigned but attributed to Tennessee artist James Hughes (1879 1940), depicting a view of Richland Lake located in Dayton, Tennessee. Pencil inscribed lower mid-margin "Richland Lake Dayton Tenn". Housed in the original homemade wooden frame. Sight – 28 1/2" H x 52" W. Framed – 37 3/8" H x 55 1/8" W. Mid-20th century. Note: A similar painting by James Hughes sold at our June 30, 2012 sale, lot 344. Condition: Overall very good condition, some age cracks to wood and natural inclusions.
