George III Chippendale mahogany mirror with carved gilt phoenix at crest, molded gilt liner with molded surround and scrolled ears. Restoration label en verso. 45-1/4" H x 23-3/4" W x 1-1/4" D. English or American, late 18th century. Provenance: Sevier County, TN private collection. CONDITION: Restorations include regilding of the Phoenix and molded lining. Minor wear to torso of phoenix and three horizontal breaks in phoenix. Braces added to scrolled ears en verso, possible old repairs to all.
