Grouping of two cobalt decorated stoneware jars, PA & NY. 1st item – Cowden & Wilcox Harrisburg PA cobalt decorated stoneware jar with lug handles. Cobalt floral design and cobalt accents on handle terminals. 9 1/8"H. Late 19th century. 2nd item – T. Harrington Lyons stamped stoneware jar (New York) with three cobalt decorated flowers, cobalt decorated "3" (denoting gallon capacity), cobalt accents on handle terminals. 13"H. Late 19th century. Condition: 1st item – Overall very good condition with smooth crescent inclusion to back shoulder area (possibly in the making). 2nd item – Overall very good condition. Blacklighting does not reveal restoration or repairs but the verso side opposite cobalt decoration has a pebbled surface different than the decorated side. Tight hairline to base.
