1st item: THE ANNALS OF TENNESSEE TO THE END OF THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY by J. G. M. Ramsey, A. M., M. D., published by Lippencott, Grambo, and Company, Philadelphia, 1853. Hardcover octavo, 744 pages including appendix with 36 pages of back advertisments, MAP OF CUMBERLAND AND FRANKLIN foldout map after dedication page, rebound in navy blue cloth with blindstamped covers and spine, gilt lettering to spine. Ink stamp reading "The Property of the Long Island Historical Society" to title page. Includes a mylar sleeve. 9 1/2" H x 6 1/2" W x 2 1/4" D. 2nd item: A DIGEST OF THE CHARTER, AMENDMENTS AND ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY PERTAINING TO THE CITY OF NASHVILLE, compiled by A. Lovering for Silas F. Allen, published by John Ruhm, Nashville, 1868. Hardcover octavo, 270 pages including index, hardbound in partial three-quarter brown leather with paper sides. 9 1/8" H x 6" W x 1" D.
CONDITION: 1st item: Rebound covers in overall very good condition with light shelf wear. Pages in overall good condition with toning, minute foxing spots, pencil inscriptions, areas of loss, tears, largest 2 1/2". Map is fragile with separations to fold lines, largest 4 1/2". First few pages, including map, with old white tape to left edges. 2nd item: Covers with wear, losses to leather, including corners, old white and brown tape repairs to spine, handwritten inscription to front cover. Majority of pages separated from spine, interior of covers with grey tape repair along spines, pages with pencil inscriptions, toning, foxing spots, creases, to be expected from age.
