Panoramic oil on canvas painting of a procession of horses, some with riders, others being led. The figures are depicted in a slight round arch, lending to the optical illusion of capturing the entire scene. Trees, rolling hills, and onlookers in the background, along with a domed shaped building in the left and the rising sun. Housed in a bronze painted wood frame. Sight – 19 1/2" H x 39 1/4" W. Framed – 24" H x 44" W. Mid 19th century. CONDITION: Overall light craquelure, multiple old tape repairs to canvas en verso. Later possible painted addition of horse. Please examine photos and blacklight photos.
