Sparton Model 557 "Sled" Art Deco radio with cobalt blue mirrored glass to front, top, and left side, ebony lacquer finish, and five (5) chrome bands or "speed lines" extending across speaker to the front, together with three knobs,and original dial and needle. 9" H x 17" W x 8 1/2" D. American, circa. 1936. Note: The Sparton Model 557 radio was designed by Walter Dorwin Teague for the Sparks Worthington Company, Jackson Michigan in 1936.
CONDITION: Dial face with some separations, largest approximately 3 1/2" L, paint restoration to flaking to black lacquer finish. The original cord is frayed and lacking plug. Needs rewiring and not tested for functionality. Some retouching or polishing to chrome finish.
