A group of assorted novelties. 1st item: California Gold Rush style pocket scale in a tole or painted tin oval box, the hinged lid decorated with an eagle. Includes 9 assembled weights up to 2 oz. Center divider broken but retained, some light wear and oxidation. Illegible pencil inscription inside lid. 5" L. Mid 19th century. 2nd item: Brass buckles with crown and anchor insignia, surrounded by floral garland with dolphin heads at sides. Unmarked, likely English Royal Navy. Light wear and oxidation. 1 3/4" H. Probably Victorian. 3rd item: Painted tin miniature or pocket boat with figure and flag. 3 oars missing, considerable paint loss. 1 3/4" H x 3 1/2" L. Possibly 19th century. 4th item: Brass and metal Boatswain's Call or whistle, 4 1/2" L, with original box and instructions. 5th item: 3 glass marbles in a Japanese lacquer quarter-round box (damage to lacquer, chip to one marble). 6th item: Burlwood carved pipe with figure of a dog (one paw missing; missing mouthpiece). 5 3/8" L. 7th item: Small brass and steel compass, 3 1/2" square.
