East Tennessee hand stitched appliqued and embroidered cotton album quilt with center square embroidered in red thread "Ladies Aid Society of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church Dayton Tenn 1892". Eight pointed cream colored stars separated by ten red and white squares, alternating with large white squares with various red hand embroidered names, all on a white ground. 88" x 74". Tennessee, late 19th century. Provenance: Private Knox County, TN collection. CONDITION: Overall good condition with light staining scattered throughout.
