1st item: French pocket aneroid barometer, by Jules Richard, #234, comprised of a white enameled dial marked with barometric range from 71-80 inches of mercury, lower dial edge marked "JR, Barometre, Brevete, SGDG". Works marked "Richard A Paris, #234" together with the Jules Richard hallmark. Housed in a sterling silver case with checkered engraving, Minerva head hallmark and maker's mark "AR" marked to the inside of the case. Stem additionally marked 234. 2 1/4" dia. 3.425 gross troy ounces. Late 19th/Early 20th century. 2nd item: French pocket aneroid barometer, comprised of a partially silvered dial with center opening to reveal works, marked with barometric range from 59-80 inches of mercury. Additionally marked along the top edge TEMPETE PLUE VARIABLE BEAU AND TRES-SEC and along the lower edge "Barometre Aneroide'. Housed in a .800 silver case, not marked but tests as .800. Back with engraved checkered design and monogram C P. Retains the original winding key and original leather storage case. 2 1/4" dia. Gross weight 3.230 total troy ounces. Late 19th century.
CONDITION: Cases with expected wear, light scratching, minor scattered denting. Barometers functioning at time of inspection.
