Two (2) folk art watercolor and gouache paintings depicting historic stone houses in Waterford, Virginia, both attributed to Edna C. James (one signed, lower right, and dated 1925). Both matted and framed under glass in ebonized frames with gilt rabbet edges. 18 1/2" x 22 1/2" and 17 1/2" x 22 1/2" sight, 26 1/4" x 31 1/4" and 27 1/4" x 31 1/4" framed. Note: The village of Waterford, Virginia is a National Historic Landmark. Settled in 1733 by Quakers from Pennsylvania, it is a collection of more than eighty 18th and 19th-century homes set within rolling farmland located about a hour outside Washington, D.C. CONDITION: Light toning but overall good condition. Not examined out of frame.
