Pair of English Georgian mahogany knife boxes with floral inlay to the tops. Fitted interiors not present. 15 3/4" H x 9" W x 13 3/4" D. Late 18th/early 19th Century. Provenace: Formerly of Maple Grove Estate, Knoxville, TN when a private residence, and published in Southern Accents magazine. CONDITION: Fitted interiors not present. Cracquelure to exterior surface, especially to the tops and fronts. Scattered minor losses to the trim of the lids and to the bases. Cracks to one side on each box.
