Collection of six (6) antique wood shaft golf clubs. From left to right in photos. 1st Item: A smooth-faced rut niblick with an unusual shaft of greenheart (as hickory was the preferred wood by the 1890s), Heavy hand-tooled hosel, stamped G. BURROWS RANELAGH WARRANTED HAND FORGED. 38 1/2" Length. Note: Stamp refers to the Course at Barn Elms at the Ranelagh Golf Club (1890-1950) where Burrows was a pro/member. 2nd Item: Authentic long-nose McEwan playclub with scared beech wood head, hickory shaft, an old sheepskin grip, rams horn insert and original lead back weight. Stamped MCCEWAN (Mussleburgh) ca. 1840; 46 1/2" Length. 3rd Item: A square-headed Gassiat putter stamped JEAN GASSIAT, persimmon head, full brass sole plate stamped WG & Co Ltd, ca. 1905; 35 1/2" Length. 4th Item: A scared head shortspoon club with hickory shaft wrapped with an old sheepskin grip, mahogany stained beechwood head, rams horn insert, and lead backweight, ca. 1860s, 38" Length. 5th Item: George Nicoll zenith spade niblick, hickory shaft, hand-punched face, stamped HAND FORGED IN SCOTLAND with Nicoll's hand-shaped cleek mark and owner stamp J. H. KERR GEZIRA CAIRO, ca. 1920, 37" Length. 6th Item: An early hand forged smooth faced brass putter, hickory shaft, very heavy hosel, leather grip ca. 1890, 38 3/4" Length.
