Group of seven (7) assembled Continental Mannerist wainscot chairs, oak with mixed woods, consisting of six (6) side chairs and one (1) armchair, all having paneled backs and plain seats with pegged, mortise and tenon construction. Side chairs with arched front stretchers. Center panel of armchair with some remaining stenciled paint decoration. Side chairs range in size from: 39" H x 15 1/2" W x 15" D to 41 1/4" H x 16 1/4" W x 15 1/2" D. Armchair – 43 1/4" H x 22 1/2" W x 15 1/4" D. Mid 17th century. Provenance: The estate of Christine Rehnke, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: All with overall general wear commensurate with use. Some chairs with age cracks to seats.
