Two (2) Joseph Day Knapp (New York, 1875-1962) watercolor on paper sporting art or hunting related paintings depicting ducks flying over a marshy landscape, including one (1) titled "Through the Mists – Black Ducks" depicting black ducks flying over grassy coastline below, and one (1) titled "Springtails Sailing In" depicting female mallards flying over open water with marsh terrain below. Both signed "J.D. Knap" lower right. Both with labels from Doll & Richard Inc., Boston, MA, including titles and purchase dates of May 1930 en verso. Housed and matted in contemporary carved wood frames under glass. Sights: 14 1/4" H x 21" W. Frames: 21 1/4" H x 28" W.
CONDITION: Both with slight toning. Springtails Sailing In with five small tears around perimeter edge, largest 3/4" L. Not examined outside of frame.
