George V sterling silver compote with a scalloped, ribbed lid having a pineapple finial, the body with two angular handles above a twisted stem, and a round base, with acanthus leaves and incised line decorations. Stamped with hallmarks for Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company, Ltd., London, 1926, below rim of compote and interior edge of lid. Not monogrammed. Overall with lid: 10 5/8" H x 10" W. 27.070 troy ounces.
PROVENANCE: The estate of a Nashville, Tennessee silver collector.
CONDITION: Light surface wear. Minute dent to rim of lid.
