Berlin or KPM style polychrome painted porcelain plaque depicting a reclining sleeping cherub in a verdant forest setting, holding a piece of fruit. Signed lower left "Wenzel". Old labels en verso including title label and Chicago gallery label. Additionally impressed "80" en verso. Housed in a carved and pierced gilt wood frame. Sight – 6 1/2" H x 9 5/8" W. Framed – 156" H x 18" W. German, late 19th to early 20th century. Provenance: the estate of Celia (Cece) Webb, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: Plaque overall very good condition. Minor rubbing to the perimeter. Old repaired breaks to frame with later added gilt paint.
