Six (6) big game hunting plates from ORIENTAL FIELD SPORTS, after Samuel Howitt and Captain Thomas Williamson, 1805-1807, hand-colored aquatint engravings published by Edward Orme, London. All are matted and framed under plexiglass in simulated birdseye maple frames. Sight – 19 1/4" x 15". Frame – 28" x 24". Plate – 18 3/4" x 14 3/8" (48 mm x 37 mm). Also included with this lot is one 19th-century engraving titled "Leone Marino" depicting a sea lion, with text in Italian and no publisher information, matted and framed under plexiglass in a mahogany frame with a gilt sight edge. Sight – 14 1/2" x 11". Frame – 24"H x 20" W.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with some scattered handling creases, scattered minor foxing and toning. Not examined out of frame.
