Chine colle serigraph after a 1978 drawing by John Lennon (England/American, 1940-1980) depicting the Statue of Liberty as a self-portrait, with fist raised defiantly into the air. Pencil signed by Yoko Ono Lennon and editioned 148/300, lower left. With John Lennon's chop mark and embossed signature, lower right. Printed on Arches paper by Atelier GF, Toronto, and published by Bag Ones Arts, 1996. With "Estate of John Lennon, 1996, Published and Distributed Exclusively by Bag One Arts, Inc." stamp en verso. With Certificate of Authentic affixed to backing. Housed under plexiglass in a modern black and gilt frame, with cream fabric mat with French line and blue and gilt fillets. Sheet: 32" H x 21 1/2" W. Frame: 38 6/16" H x 29 13/16" W.
PROVENANCE: Elizabeth Ozment for the estate of Elliott Ozment, Nashville, Tennessee. Ozment was a leading Civil Rights and Immigration attorney in Nashville and former State Legislator.
