Civil War era Colt Model 1849 Pocket Percussion Revolver; single action, .31 caliber, serial number 273570, all visible serial numbers matching on frame, trigger guard, barrel wedge, back strap, cylinder arbor, cylinder, barrel assembly, and loading lever. Top of barrel marked ADDRESS COL SAML COLT / NEW-YORK US AMERICA left side of frame with "COLT'S/PATENT", Cylinder marked "Colt's Patent No. 3570" with engraved stage coach hold-up scene on cylinder. Checkered hammer, standard sights, walnut grip, brass trigger guard and back-strap, octagonal barrel. Barrel length: 6". Overall length: 11". Serial number corresponds to year 1865.
CONDITION: Patina is light gray with scattered spots of darker oxidation. Hammer somewhat stiff, holds at half and full cock, releases with trigger pull; loading lever functions correctly. Engraving on cylinder worn. Barrel marking "ADDRESS…" line double stamped.
