Handpainted tin retablo depicting the Virgin Mary holding a flowering branch; a dove with spread wings is painted across the center of her chest, and a crown of roses encircles her head. Punched tin frame with decorative wings on each side and arched top having a fan and floral design. Unsigned. Mexican, mid to late 19th century. 12″ x 9″Sight, 21-1/2″ x 12-3/4″ Framed. Provenance: the estate of Mrs. Adna Godfrey Wilde, Jr. (Sara Joan Wilde), Colorado Springs, CO. Condition: Some minor wear, losses and fading to portrait; oxidation and minor wear to frame.
