Three (3) Charley Harper (Ohio/West Virginia, 1922-2007) animal serigraph on paper prints, including "Bear in the Birches", "Cool Carnivore", and framed "Watermelon Moon". All published by the Frame House Gallery, Inc., Louisville, KY, 1972, 1979, and 1973 respectively. 1st item: "Bear in the Birches", numbered 1064/1500, depicting a black bear inspecting a downed log visible in vertical breaks through a thick line of birch trees in the foreground and background on a white field. Numbered, in pencil, lower left under image, and signed "C. Harper", in pencil, lower right under image. Image: 20" H x 20" W. Sheet: 22 7/8" H x 22 5/8/" W. 2nd item: "Cool Carnivore", numbered 1751/2000, depicting the face of a panting Bengal tiger with a droplet falling from its outstretched tongue upon a muted green field with concentric white circles. Number, in pencil, lower left below the image, and signed "C. Harper", in pencil, lower right below the image. Image: 20 1/8" H x 20" W. Sheet: 24 1/8" H x 24 1/8" W. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, Tennessee.
CONDITION: All serigraphs in overall good condition. 1st item: Minute warping to paper. Toning and minute residue to sheet; does not affect image. 2nd item: Tissue paper guard, portfolio, documentation, and envelope with scattered minute toning/acid burn, creasing, and tears to envelope, largest measuring 1 1/2" L. 3rd item: Not examined outside of frame. Frame with minor wear to gilt.
