Samuel Kirk & Son repousse sterling silver tea service, 6 pieces, comprised of a swing kettle on stand with burner, coffee pot, tea pot, creamer, covered sugar bowl with lion mask and ring handles and tea strainer. Each piece of baluster form with flared lip, and footed base, all with chased and engraved floral repousse decoration in high relief and feathered edges, the domed covers with figural grapevine cluster finials. Kettle, tea and coffee pot with carved ivory insulators, sugar bowl with lion mask handles. Each piece marked on the base “S. Kirk & Son Co., 925/1000”. Kettle – 15″ H x 11″ W. Coffee pot – 11 1/2″ H. Teapot – 9″ H. Sugar bowl – 7 1/2″ H. Creamer – 8 1/2″ H. 199.50 total troy ounces. Circa 1907. Provenance: Baltimore estates of Virginia Howard Miller (c. 1880-1946) and Hugh Purviance King (1873-1966) passed down to present Living Estate of Virginia Johnston, Chattanooga, TN. CONDITION: Coffee pot handle loose, pins missing. Otherwise all pieces very good condition.
