Rare Dandridge, TN, The Bank of Jefferson, $5, Obsolete currency note, depicting milkmaid with cattle and chickens at the center with vignette of young girl shading her eyes lower left. Printed by Bald, Cousland & Co., Philadelphia. Bears contemporary stamp stating "Property of American Bank Note Co." on back. Condition: Choice with some spotting. Note: According to Paul E. Garland, author of "The History of Early Tennessee Banks and Their Issues", very few records survive from this institution and he ranks this note as a 14 on a rarity scale ranging from 1 – 15 with 15 being unique.
