1st item: Scarce Civil War era 1861 Two Dollar Banknote, Bank of Tennessee Nashville, issued in Knoxville, # 380, signed by Ramsey and McMahan. Vignette of Native Americans kneeling before a medallion of George Washington, embraced by Columbia. In mylar sleeve. 3 1/8"H x 7 1/8"W. 2nd item: $10 Mechanics Bank of Memphis note, issued in Memphis, TN, dated March 1, 1855. Depicts vignettes of men working foundries, engraved by Danford, Wright, and Company, New York and Philadelphia. Serial number 1028, Cashier and President signatures. Certificate of authenticity affixed en verso. Hinge mounted, matted, and housed under glass in a wooden frame. Note: 3 1/8" H x 7 1/8" W. Framed: 9 3/4" H x 11 3/4" W.
CONDITION: 1st item: Circulated condition, creases and small stains, pinsized hole lower right. 2nd item: appears to be uncirculated condition. Not examined outside of frame.
