Henri Matisse JAZZ Series portfolio, Special First Edition, published by George Braziller, Inc. for the Museum of Modern Art, (a facsimile of the 1947 Verve edition), New York, 1983. Folio, 146 loose bifolium text pages and colored prints, with facsimile of original 1947 limitation page with a facsimile of Matisse's signature, introduction pages, and table of images, all housed in a publisher's custom printed gray clamshell box with navy cloth spine and a cardboard slipcase. Pages: 15 1/2" H x 12" W. Slipcase: 16 3/8" H x 12 1/2" W x 1 3/4" D.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Clamshell box and slip case with normal shelf wear, scattered surface scuffs, handling wear. Majority of pages with very light toning, few minor creases, handling wear. Limitation page facsimile with vertical crease approximately 1" from fold line.
