Two (2) carved and painted canvasback drake duck decoys attributed to Doug Jester (1876 – 1961/ Chincoteague, VA) including one oversized example. Both with painted eyes and a deeply notched groove behind the neck. 7" H x 16" L and 8 1/2" H x 16 1/2" L. Both 1st half 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Smaller drake with losses and scattered wear to paint, repairs to bill and head. Oversized drake with wear to paint, primarily to the body.
