Large collection of one hundred and ninety-three pieces of Rogers Bros. silverplated flatware in the rare Assyrian Head pattern, pat. 1881, individual pieces plus serving utensils. Includes 19 knives (8: 9 1/4" L, 11: 9" L); 26 dinner forks (7 1/4"L); 3 lunch forks (7"); 14 salad/dessert forks; 11 cocktail forks; 8 pie or pastry forks; 8 small butter spreaders; 5 large spreaders; 9 picks; 9 place/dessert spoons; 22 teaspoons; 8 tablespoons; 6 salt ladles; 20 demitasse spoons (some with gilt bowls, others without); and 1 youth fork and 1 youth spoon. Also includes 3 serving forks; 1 pie/pastry server; 3 serving spoons (1 is slotted); 2 master butter knives; 2 fish or ice cream slices; 2 sugar shell spoons; 1 punch ladle; 1 soup ladle; 1 crumber; 1 nutcracker; 1 condiment ladle; 1 cream ladle; 1 large sugar tongs, 1 small sugar tongs; and 2 olive/pickle forks. Note: This lot previously included 19 oversized forks no longer included in this set. All items included in this set are pictured.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Dr. Joe Newsom Rawlings, Davisboro, Georgia.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with minimal wear and oxidation. One dinner fork with two areas of loss, largest 1/8", to tine. Some items with gilt washing show wear to gilt.
