Two (2) Western Hats with Native American beaded bands. 1st item: Indian Reservation Hat comprised of tan leather, conical crown and a five inch brim with a Plains geometric beaded and mirrored hat band. 7 1/4" H x 17" dia. Circa 1915. Note: Acquired in January 2000 from High Noon's 10th Annual Wild West Antique auction, lot 25. 2nd item: Native American top hat with beaded band, Diplomat brand silk top hat with a turquoise, coral and white beaded band, a 1916 Buffalo nickel and braided horse hair tassel. 5 1/8" H x 10 1/2" W x 12 1/4" D. Early 20th century. Provenance: Nancy Walton Collection, Gatlinburg, TN. CONDITION: 1st item: General use wear to hat. Beaded band with scattered losses to upper and lower edge beading, losses to mirrored beads. 2nd item: Losses to grosgrain trim of brim, curling of brim. Hole to one side of har with wear to top edges. Holes evident to front of hat indicting decoration loss.
