Fernand (Joseph Henri) Leger (America/France 1881-1955) colored lithograph, titled "Les Deux Oiseaux" ("The Birds," from La Ville), depicting a dove holding a branch in its beak swooping down in front of a round billboard or street sign with another yellow bird flying below in front of a partial geometric border and abstract foliate forms in the foreground and background. Signed "F Leger" lower right and numbered "51/180" lower left in pencil. David B. Findlay Galleries sticker label and inscription, en verso. Housed and matted under glass in a giltwood frame. Sight: 19 1/8" H x 14 1/8" W. Framed: 27 1/2" H x 22 3/8" W.
PROVENANCE: Private Williamson County, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with minute areas of foxing. Not examined outside of frame. Mat with area of dampstaining at lower edge measuring approximately 1 1/2" x 20 1/2". Frame with minor wear to gilt.
