The Border Trilogy by Cormac McCarthy, consisting of three books in series, each a presentation copy warmly inscribed to McCarthy's long-time friends on the half title page: "To John and Lanelle / With much love / Cormac". 1st Item: ALL THE PRETTY HORSES, 1st Edition/1st Printing, (First Edition stated with no additional printings), Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1992, inscribed by McCarthy on half title, octavo, G/G, hardcover in Good condition having black boards with gilt stamped cover and spine, in Good original unclipped jacket. 2nd Item: THE CROSSING; 1st Edition/1st Printing (First Edition stated with no additional printings), Alfred A. Knopf, New York, USA, 1994, inscribed by McCarthy on half title, octavo, G/G, hardcover in Good condition having black boards with gilt stamped cover and spine, publisher's red top edge, in Good original unclipped jacket. 3rd Item CITIES OF THE PLAIN 1st Edition/1st Printing, (First Edition stated with no additional printings), Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1998, inscribed by McCarthy on half title, octavo, F/VG hardcover in Fine condition having black boards with gilt stamped cover and spine, publisher's red top edge, in Very Good original unclipped jacket. Each 8 3/4" H x 5 7/8" W.

PROVENANCE: Collection of the original giftee, East Tennessee.

CONDITION: 1st Item (Horses): book in Good condition with slightly loose spine, foxing to top and fore edges, 1/2" bump to bottom cover board, DJ (dust jacket) with 1" tear to bottom cover with interior tape repair, toning to spine, bumping along spine top and bottom. 2nd Item (Crossing): book in Good condition with a slightly loose spine, lightening to top stained edge, DJ Good with yellowing to front, lightening to black on spine, very slight roughing to edges, creased interior corner by price. 3rd Item (Cities): Book in Fine condition with no discernible issues, DJ Very Good with slight bumping along top spine, toning to spine color.
