Cast iron mechanical bank, William Tell theme (place a coin in the rifle slot, depress Tell's foot, and the coin shoots an apple off his son's head as it goes into the castle). Patent date June 1896 on underside (patented by Russell Frisbie, attributed to J. & E. Stevens). 10-1/2"L. Late 19th century. Provenance: A Mississippi estate. Condition: Original paint with moderate wear. Functional.
