Lot of 3 menus from U.S. WWII ships, including Christmas and Thanksgiving Day 1940, U.S.S. Arizona. 1ST ITEM: U.S.S. Arizona Thanksgiving Day 1940 folding menu with printed turkey design on exterior, listing ships officers and the day'smenu on the interior. Excellent condition. 6 1/2" x 5 1/8" folded. 2ND ITEM: U.S.S. Arizona Christmas Day 1940 menu with printed sailor design to cover, frontspiece with printed red and green image of Santa Claus noting that the covers forthe menus were made and donated to the ship by school children members of the Junior Red Cross in Richardson and Dallas, Texas; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Springfield, Missouri; and San Francisco, California. Interior lists the day's menu andschedule of events, which included a communion service, magician's show, and arrival of Santa Claus. Back page is a program listing of the day's band music. Back cover credits the cover design to Roosevelt High School of Cedar Rapids.Condition: some small food stains to cover and interior pages, and some light diagonal folds to left side of cover and front right corner of cover, mild overall toning. 9" x 6" folded.
